Inside UAS RATUFC KEMIJÄRVI geographical zone, Safran Electronics & Defense is exempted from the following 'open' category requirements:

  • Unmanned aircraft system (Article 4 point 1 a and UAS.OPEN.040 points 4 b-e)
  • Maximum take-off mass (Article 4 point 1 b and UAS.OPEN.040 point 4 a)
  • Distance to people (Article 4 point 1 c and UAS.OPEN.040 points 1-2)
  • Visual line of sight (Article 4, point 1 d)
  • Maximum flying height (Article 4 point 1 e and UAS.OPEN.010 point 2)
  • Competency of remote pilots (Article 8 and UAS.OPEN.040 point 3)

The exemptions in the UAS geographical zone apply only to UAS operations conducted by Safran Electronics & Defense and operations are allowed taking into account the following:

  • danger area EFD693 - KEMIJÄRVI must be activated during the whole UAS operations
  • Conditions, procedures and requirements set in the decision to establish temporary danger area EFD693 - KEMIJÄRVI and it's enclosures must be taken into account in the operations
  • UAS operations must be conducted only in sparsely populated areas
  • A transponder must be used in the Unmanned Aircraft during operations
  • Coordination between potential other air traffic in the UAS geographical zone and temporary danger area is possible on EFKM radio frequency.
