In this zone, an unmanned aircraft is exempted from the following category 'open' requirements of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947:
- Distance from people (Article 4, Section 1(c)); no flying over assemblies of people.
- The operating area is sparsely populated, but there are a few buildings that need to be operated near during take-offs and landings.
- Take-off mass (Article 4, Section 1(b)).
- UAS prototypes are used, weighing a maximum of 50kg.
- Equipment-specific requirements (Article 4, Section 1(a)).
- UAS prototypes are designed and built using parts that are not standardized.
Exemptions are possible only in accordance with the version of Esox Aero Oy's UAS Operations Manual dated 12 July 2024.
If there is a change in the operating environment and conditions, or if changes are made to the operations manual and they have an impact on the risk assessment that led to the establishment of the permitted UAS geographical zone, the Agency may revoke the decision to establish the permitted UAS geographical zone, prohibit the implementation of the updated operations manual or the implementation of the change, or impose additional conditions on the operations.
The permissive UAS geographical zone is set up for Esox Aero's own use only. Operation by others in the zone is permitted subject to the usual open category conditions and restrictions.
